Due to the fact that our thriller film opening is a supernatural thriller, as a group we had decided that the younger audience will be ideal for this type of movie, as most thrillers are directed for a younger audience. What I mean by younger audience are people aged from 16 to 25, this is because this is the ideal age group for thriller films.
The fact that our thriller is a supernatural thriller, it will attract people who are deeply into believing in supernatural beings.
Based on our unique selling point the specific audience for our thriller are rated 15A and above, the thriller film Orphan is rated 15A and The Black Swan is rated 12A, so therefore we decided 15 A would be appropriate for our thriller opening. We had also decided that both male and female will be appropriate as an audience as we had a contrast of streotypical victim, which was a male.
