Film Genre And the Cinema In 2010

  • in 2010 there were 38 suspense films released
  • in total the suspense films gross to the nearest million was £42 million
  • the film section with the highest gross in 2010 was action/adventure
  • the most popular family genre in 2010 was action/adventure

The figures for suspense genre films are higher than the documentary genre figures, due to a few reasons. In 2010, 57 documentary films were made, and in that year £1,834,067 was produced. However, in the same year suspense films made 28 films and produced a result of £42,441,123. This was due to the fact that documentary films were not as popular as suspense films. Even compared to the percentage of box office views suspense has a higher figure; as it has 4.2% whereas documentary films has a percentage of 0.2% . in the same way the horror genre managed to create 26 films in 2010, whilst there gross rate was £45,131,491 and 4.5% at the box office. surprisingly the horror genre made a huge gross even though they produced 2 films less then suspense. Overall, it concludes the fact that horror films are more popular then suspense films, but the suspense films is popular than documentaries. This perhaps could be due to the audience.
