In film intertexuality means the borrowing of parts of a film and is shown in another way or in another film. Many thrillers have taken parts from the well known horror film 'Psycho' and use these clips in their own thrillers.
In one part of the thriller 'Fatal Attraction' there are two women in the bathroom one is stabbing the other, then a man comes running up the stairs into the bathroom after he hears the women shouting. He strangles her and tries to drown her in the bath tub. The aspects that were borrowed from 'Psycho' are the knife when the women is constantly stabbing the other women, the white tile and the white bath tub, women screaming and the setting which is the bathroom.
The thriller 'Stepfather' Also 'borrows' some parts from Psycho.
