Target Audiences

Each genre of film has a certain target audience Films are usually created to be aimed at a certain target audience. A target audience is a specific group of people within the target market at which a product or message is aimed at, in this case it is the different genre of films.. For example, horror films are mainly aged at teens, although they can be enjoyed by older audiences aswell.

Comedy is considered to be the most popular genre that is watched, however there are other successful genres such as horror, action, mystery, animation and thriller.

Toy Story is the first of a animated adventure trilogy. It has been given an age certificate of 'U', meaning that it is universal and therefore suitable for all ages. Since it is an animation film, it is most likely to be aimed at children and seen as a family film, however the movie is enjoyable for all ages.
