A Genre is a category of things distinguished by common characteristics such as the genre of films, music, books and games. The genre of a film is the type of film like for example 'Thrillers'.
A Sub Genre is a category of specific genre films, for example the sub genre of 'Thrillers' are Sci Fi, Psychological, Political, Crime, Comedy, Romantic, Supernatural and Adventure thrillers.
It is easy to spot what type of genre a film will be in the opening. This film - Taking of pelham is an action thriller, you can tell that it is an action thriller because of the music, the music is upbeat and fast which goes with the pace of the whole thing. The font and colour of the writing also gives the audience a sense of what kind of genre it will be. This is influential to my film opening as I could also use fast pace in my film opening in some parts.
