In our health and saftety tutorial, we watched a information video on how to use the JVC Camera in a safe and secure manner considering how valuable and expensive they are. We were taught basic funtions like switching it on and off, how to open and close the lense and how to insert the memory card.We were also shown the different devices which were with the camera such as the memory card, the tripod, etc. The memory card is very important as it holds all the footage recorded. We were told to back all our footage and work on to out video hard drive, just in case anything gets lost on the memory card.
The tripod is used as a platform for supporting the weight and maintaining the stability of the camera. The tripod helps make the camera record more easily and flow steadily. For example, the panning stick allows easy movement of the camera for panning - it pans easily and steady because it is pivoted on the tripod. We were also taught how to safely secure the camera on to the tripod, so it does not fall off whilst recording. Another requirement is that the legs of the tripod had to be spread evenly and had to be the same length so the camera would not be wonky.
